The Department of Art was excited to be a part of the 2017 Arbor Day event on February 16th. Two graphic design classes participated in a poster competition guided by Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Christian Dunn. Pictured is Dunn presenting the winning poster, designed by Stefanie Cobb. Stefanie’s concept reads as follows:
The inspiration behind the design of this Arbor Day poster is not simply the concept of a tiny seed growing into a forest of tall, majestic trees, although there is great beauty in that idea, as with all aspects of nature. The poster represents the action—our willingness to create change and effect an outcome through the act of planting those seeds. For our actions, like those seeds, determine our future.
