In August, the work of artist Barry Buxkamper was on display in the Hammond Hall Gallery.

Buxkamper is an accomplished artist with works displayed across the country.

Department Head Seth Johnson is a close friend and colleague of Buxkamper, and he describes his work as detailed and surreal-like art that draws you in.

Buxkamper was raised in Texas, but has resided in Nashville since 1972. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Texas in 1968 and his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Illinois in 1972. He is currently Professor Emeritus at Middle Tennessee State University.
