New Photography Minor!

The Department of Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a concentration in Photography and a NEW Minor in Photography. For more information about the photography course offerings please contact Sarah Cusimano Miles at smiles@jsu.edu or Doug Clark at dclark@jsu.edu
A MINOR IN PHOTOGRAPHY consists of 21 hours of approved art courses, which include ART 242, 368, 369 or 470, 469, and nine hours of studio courses in photography numbered 300 and above. Students who wish to pursue a minor in photography should consult with the department head or a photography professor. This minor is not available for students majoring in Art.
*Please note that ART 368 Introduction to Photography has no prerequisites and there are cameras available.

ART 242 – Digital Literacy for Artists and Designers
ART 368 – Introduction to Photography
ART 369 – Black and White Photography OR ART 470 Alternative Processes in Photography
ART 469 – Intermediate Digital Photography

2. Choose an additional three courses from the list below: 9 hours total
ART 369 – Black and White Photography
ART 390 – Photoshop Tools
ART 470 – Alternative Processes in Photography
ART 471 – Advanced Photography
ART 473 – Special Topics in Photography
ART 474 – Photography in the Field
ART 475 – Studio Lighting
ART 476 – Video for Photographers
ART 490 – Independent Study in Photography
