A collection of works by Young Lee
Young Lee was born in South Korea in 1993. After graduating from elementary school in Korea Lee moved to the United States to experience different cultures and ideas, while earning an associates degree in Business Administration in 2014, and an Associate’s degree in Studio Arts in 2016.
Lee first began in the visual arts through art history and painting, but then began to experiment with graphic design during their time with studio art.
Young Lee has been published in Papers and Publications, 2017 issue and The Chesatee, 2017 issue. Lee also received The Outstanding Achievement in Art Scholarship, 2017 at the University of North Georgia.
This exhibit is a mixture of graphic design and painting. Lee has applied a concept of graphic design that is a reaction to modern art and today’s digital transformation.
“My artworks intend to explore how existing images can present themselves in different perspective to share my story”, Lee says.
Although Lee started artistic studies with painting, they were also intrigued by photography that observes what exists in daily life, and present that object itself as an artwork. Lee’s works of graphic design incorporate photography, like a subject for painting, and seeks to highlight how artists can digitally composite an artwork.
